Lightning Lacrosse Travel

Lightning Lacrosse offers one high school travel team each summer. Rather than holding traditional tryouts, we build our roster through teammate recommendations, relationships we've developed throughout the WPIAL, and girls who express interest in joining our program. This approach allows us to create a balanced team by position while fostering a positive, supportive team culture where every player can thrive.

Our roster includes players from schools across Western Pennsylvania. We intentionally keep our roster small so every player receives meaningful playing time and has the opportunity to make an impact throughout the summer.

Our travel program is designed for families who want a competitive experience without the demands of year-round club lacrosse. We typically travel to tournaments within 2–5 hours of Pittsburgh and focus on providing a fun, organized, and affordable experience.

For players interested in continuing their lacrosse careers beyond high school, we also provide recruiting guidance at no additional cost. Our coaches help players navigate the recruiting process, communicate with college coaches, build recruiting profiles, and determine the best fit for their academic and athletic goals. Lightning players have gone on to compete at the NCAA Division I, Division II, Division III, and collegiate club levels.

The summer travel program includes:

• Weekly Summer League 
• Weekly Training Sessions 
• Two Summer Tournaments 
• A Lightning travel jersey that players keep 

Unlike many clubs, we keep our pricing simple. There are no hidden fees or additional tournament costs after registration. We also do not require families to stay in designated "stay-to-play" hotels, allowing you to choose accommodations that best fit your family's budget, preferences, or hotel rewards program.
